Fusilli with tuna and tomatoes

I took this recipe from a site in Italy and modified it a little. I hope you like it, especially if you are big fish lovers.

  • 50 g Fusilli pasta + 500 ml water for boiling them + salt;
  • a tablespoon of olive oil;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • a small hot pepper;
  • a can with crushed tuna in oil (120 g tuna);
  • 150 g diced tomatoes;
  • 3 sprigs of parsley;
  • half a teaspoon of sugar;
  • salt.

Servings: 1

Preparation time: less than 30 minutes

HOW TO PREPARE Fusilli recipe with tuna and tomatoes:

Bring the water to a boil together with the salt and when it boils, add the pasta, boiling according to the instructions on the package, then remove from the heat and cover with a lid.

Grease a pan with olive oil and fry the two cloves of garlic cleaned of leaves, then remove.

The hot pepper is cleaned of seeds and washed, fried in oil, then removed.

Drain the tuna from the canned oil and place in the pan. After frying, add the diced tomatoes. When the sauce drops, put the pasta in the pan with a foam paddle to drain the water and half of the washed and chopped parsley. Season with salt and add sugar (only if the sauce is sour). They are kept on the fire for about another minute. Put them on a plate and sprinkle the rest of the parsley on top.

How do we make stuffed tomatoes, an easy, quick and uncooked appetizer?

For these tomatoes filled with tuna we obviously need tomatoes. But not any kind of tomatoes, but some big, juicy and necessarily Romanian. I love our tomatoes, especially when they are in season. They are so tasty and juicy that they can't be compared to others. My grandmother had the best and biggest tomatoes. I made them into a super salad in the juice I soaked home bread and we ate until we could no longer breathe. Grandma always tells me that I liked the little tomatoes and that she found me among the tomato stalks, being small, eating with gusto. The truth is that I love it and that they are my favorite vegetables. This is also the main reason why I wanted to use them in this recipe.

Besides Insalatissime, you can put in these stuffed tomatoes anything you want. The preserve contains large Rio tuna, couscous and boiled vegetables, and I added a few more. First of all, the pulp of the tomatoes. I couldn't throw it away, especially since it's very tasty. I put more baked peppers, cucumbers, green onions and parsley. Obviously you can put any ingredients you want. It's important that you like it. You can also put Telemea cheese, urda or even sweet cottage cheese. And walnuts or hazelnuts go very well for a slightly crunchy note. The result is wonderful! Tastes, healthy and fast. My husband appreciated the stuffed tomato recipe and eagerly ate two pieces. One of my favorite recipes for pasta or bruschetta is this Italian sauce with dehydrated tuna and tomatoes. It tastes great! You can keep it in the fridge for 5-6 days, and if you want to keep it for the winter, put it in sterilized jars. But because it's so simple, I prefer to keep it in the fridge, anyway it doesn't last more than a week.

With pasta or gnocchi (Italian potato dumplings) it is divine, but also with bruschette. When I don't have time to cook, I fry a few slices of bread, rub them with a clove of garlic and eat them with this tuna and tomato pesto.

For the pesto sauce recipe I used tuna Lotka pieces, in sunflower oil, an excellent choice for a dream recipe. Lotka cans do not contain E-s or preservatives, so you can use them with confidence for tasty and easy to prepare dishes.

Here's how to make this quick Italian sauce with tuna and dehydrated tomatoes!

Pesto sauce with tuna and dehydrated tomatoes - Ingredients (200 g)

  • 1 can Lotka tuna pieces, in sunflower oil (160g)
  • 90 g of dehydrated tomatoes
  • 1 medium fresh tomato
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • 30 g pine nuts / walnut kernels
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • salt (optional)

  • Put the dehydrated tomatoes in a deep plate and cover them with slightly warm water. Let them soak for about 30 minutes, then drain very well.
  • Fill a saucepan with water and put it on the fire. When the water starts to boil, add the tomato, notched at the ends, and cook for 1 minute. We take it out of the water, clean the skin, then cut it in half and remove the seeds.

  • We cut the red pulp into pieces and put them in the robot. Add the dehydrated tomatoes, the tuna, along with the canned oil, the peeled garlic, the lemon juice, the pine nuts or the walnut kernels and the chopped parsley.

  • Mix at medium speed until you get a homogeneous composition. At this point we start to gradually add the olive oil and mix continuously until the sauce becomes creamy.

Personally I do not add salt. Dried tomatoes already have a well-defined taste, the tone is slightly salty, so only if you want, you can add salt. I recommend you taste the sauce before adding salt.

And because lately I have been overwhelmed by the Easter fever, I said why not have pasta with tuna on the menu today. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, I let my appetite decide and that's how I came up with a wonderful menu that I served one or two.

Here's what you need for this delicious and quick recipe: 2 teaspoons of sunflower oil, a little salt for sauce and boiling pasta, 2-3 teaspoons of broth, 1 can of tuna (the tuna is qualitative), 200 and a few grams of fusilli pasta.

Put the pasta to boil. During this time, prepare the sauce. Put the oil in the pan and let it heat up. Add the broth. Interfere. Then add the tuna. Stir again. If the pasta has boiled in the meantime, remove the dish from the heat and drain the pasta. Place the pasta on a plate or a flat plate and add the tuna sauce over them.

Method of preparation

I improvised this kind of pasta on a Sunday when I was running out of ideas. They are delicious!

Fusilli is boiled according to the instructions on the package.

Finely chop the onion, as well as the garlic. Tomatoes are cut into quarters and the donut into cubes.

Heat the olive oil in a deeper pan and cook the onion and garlic. Add the tomatoes and the donut and leave on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. When the pasta is cooked, add it to the pan with the vegetables.

Add the mashed tomatoes and the tuna drained from the juice. Mix well, season with salt, pepper, basil and parsley to taste, leaving on high heat for 1 minute.

  • green olives
  • olive oil
  • 250 g cherry tomatoes
  • tuna pieces in olive oil

  • oregano
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic

Some people do not like commercial pasta and want to make it in their own kitchen. Yes, you can do that, only the preparation time for tuna pasta will be much longer and in addition you need a pasta machine.
